Following our first infographic exploring residents’ experiences of the NHS App, we’re sharing the next set of findings from our survey results and conversations with local communities.

Our findings show that around 1 in 3 people across the borough and Reading combined do not use the NHS App.

People told us there are several reasons for this, including preferring traditional ways to access healthcare, lacking confidence with technology, and not having access to a suitable device.

Our findings show that people access healthcare in different ways. Service providers and key decision-makers need to listen to what works for people to ensure everyone has a choice, and support those who want to use digital services but currently face barriers.

The key priorities we’ve identified from feedback:

  • Protect choice in how people access healthcare

  • Build digital confidence and skills

  • Expand access to devices and connectivity

The infographic below sets out the findings in more detail, including what residents told us and the actions we believe could help address these barriers.
