Welcome to our NHS App information page. This is your one-stop page for support and guidance. Whether you're just getting started or want to learn more, we’ve got you covered.

If you can’t use the NHS App on your mobile phone, you can still access the same services through the NHS website.

You can log in online using a laptop, computer, tablet, or phone with internet access: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/

You can also still contact your GP practice or pharmacy by phone or in person.

What can you do on the NHS app

  • Order repeat prescriptions

  • Choose a pharmacy for your prescriptions (also known as pharmacy nomination). You cannot nominate online pharmacies in the app.

    Once you nominate a pharmacy:

    • You don’t need to collect paper prescriptions from your GP.

    • Your prescriptions will be sent straight to your chosen pharmacy.

    • Your pharmacy will keep getting your prescriptions until you change or remove your nomination.

    • Any prescriptions you've already ordered will still go to your current nominated pharmacy.

  • Book and manage appointments

  • View your NHS number

  • View your GP health record

  • Book and manage coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccinations

  • Register your organ donation decision

  • Give feedback on how you use your test results

  • Choose how the NHS uses your data

  • Use NHS 111 online to answer questions and get instant advice or medical help near you

  • Ask your GP to give someone you trust access to some of your NHS app services. The person you choose must be at the same GP surgery as you. Your GP surgery will do safeguarding checks.

What's coming next in the app

Here are a few of the many new features that are coming to the NHS app in 2026. No specific dates have been announced yet:

  • Authorised access: You will be able to use the app to manage health services for someone else (such as your child or someone you care for) without needing to ask your GP first.

  • Hospital referrals and appointments: You’ll be able to see your hospital waiting list and upcoming appointments in the app.

  • Prescriptions: You will be able to view and track the status of your prescription, set reminders to request repeat prescriptions and find out when your prescription is ready for collection.

Have your say on the NHS app

We are currently running a survey to gather feedback from local people about their experiences using the NHS App

The NHS App is becoming a central tool for accessing healthcare services, from booking appointments to viewing medical records. However, we know that not everyone finds it easy to use or even knows it exists.

By collecting feedback from a wide range of people, especially those who may be digitally excluded or underrepresented, we can ensure that future improvements to the app reflect real community needs. The more voices we hear, the stronger the case we can make for inclusive, accessible healthcare.

We understand that not everyone has access to or feels comfortable using online surveys. That’s why our online survey is just one of the ways we’re collecting feedback.

Our engagement team are actively out in the community across Wokingham Borough, speaking with people face-to-face. Click the following links to find out where you can meet us over the next few months: Sept & Oct: Out and about with the team and Out and about with the team in November.

If you know someone who would like a paper copy or a different way to share their views, please feel free to contact us using the details below, and we’ll be happy to help.
