We’re conducting an Enter & View this week at Wokingham Medical Centre

Updated: Mar 7, 2023

We want your feedback (the good or the bad) if you're a patient of the medical centre.

We’re asking all patients of Wokingham Medical Centre to give us feedback on the centre’s services, whether positive or negative. This is part of the Enter and View visits we are conducting at the medical centre this week.

As part of our work programme, we carry out Enter and View visits to publicly funded health and social care services across Wokingham Borough, to observe and hear how local people are experiencing care.

We’ve received a high volume of feedback (both negative and positive) about Wokingham Medical Centre in recent months which has led to these Enter and View visits taking place.

Healthwatch Wokingham Borough has a statutory right to carry out Enter and View visits in health and social care premises to observe the nature and quality of services, as set out in the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007.

Enter and View visits can be to NHS organisations, GPs, dentists, opticians and community pharmacists. Visits are not inspections but aim to offer a layperson's perspective.

Each visit is carried out by a team of trained Healthwatch Wokingham Borough Authorised Representatives to:

  • See and hear how services are provided

  • Collect the views of service users; patients and residents, their carers and families

  • Collect the views of staff

  • Observe the nature and quality of services

A report is written which includes observations, feedback and recommendations, with comments from the service provider. It is then published and shared with service provider/s to make improvements, Care Quality Commission (CQC), Local Authority and NHS commissioners and quality assurers, Healthwatch England and any other relevant partners, and the public.

To get involved and have your voice heard, you can either meet the team, have a chat and fill out the short survey at the centre, send the paper survey back to us using the free stamped address envelope provided or complete the short survey online at home.

We want to get as many patients’ voices heard as possible and we invite you as a patient of Wokingham Medical Centre to be part of our Enter and View programme.

You can complete the short online survey here.

The survey closes on Friday 10th March.

If you have any questions about the Enter and View you can:

Call us: 0118 418 1418

The report will be published in the weeks to come so do keep an eye out on our website.
