Community Engagement Volunteer 

You will play a vital role in ensuring that people across Wokingham Borough are engaged, listened to, and provided with an avenue to share their views and experiences of local health and social care services.

In this role you will:

  • Reach out to different communities across the borough

  • Plan engagement activities with other volunteers and Healthwatch staff

  • Hold engagement and information stands at community events and areas, such as GP surgeries, libraries, and hospitals

  • Talk to and gather the views of local people reporting back to Healthwatch staff

  • Help conduct surveys and consultations with local communities

Enter and View Authorised Representative Volunteer

Local Healthwatch have a legal power to enter and view health and social care services owned or controlled by local health and social care providers. As part of a small group of trained volunteers, you will observe and assess the service being provided, talk with service staff, service users and their families or carers.

You will contribute to a group report about findings and recommendations. This report will become a public document and you may also need to follow up on suggested recommendations.

Advisory Group Member 

Advisory Group Members will work alongside the Chair and local team to play an important role in setting and maintaining the strategic direction of Healthwatch Wokingham Borough. In addition to preparing for, attending and participating in formal Advisory Group meetings, the members will:

  • Formulate strategy

  •  Ensure accountability for delivery of the strategy and seek assurance that systems of control are robust and reliable

  • Shape a positive culture for the Board and organisation

  • Provide accountability to the people of the area and the Healthwatch membership
